First, notice if a grocery store product, such as an apple, causes symptoms repeatedly while that same item from an organic food store is well-tolerated. This would suggest that a pesticide or chemical, on or in the grocery store variety, is probably at fault. This would mean you should try to ingest only non-pesticided or organic foods or beverages, as much as possible. (See Appendix D. 5a,b for an unproven way to possibly provide some inexpensive insight.)
Organic food is relatively expensive. |

Supplements, if needed, should be natural complexes made from live, whole organic food sources, with their enzymes and electrical properties intact. The best supplements are those that are prepared with minimal processing.
Simple, Effective Health Program
Start the day with a full glass of water with the juice of V2 freshly squeezed lemon.
Eat only raw fruit until noon.
Drink a green smoothie (Appendix 7) every day.
Key #4: Believing

The definition of authentic farming obviously stresses local, seller-grown, fresh, organic food - concepts that are not so easy for agribusiness to adopt. This supports the health of the ecosystem, our bodies, and the local economy. Because many of us to do not have access to authentic foods in contemporary society, one solution is to grow your own. For most people at this point, it is appropriate to at least shift to buying organic food from your local health food store. |
| Other studies suggest organic food has even higher percentages of nutrients than commercially grown food. This means that, by buying organic produce, we actually get more for our money and for our health.
The good news is that many people are listening. The total of organic products sold has grown at a rate of about 20 percent per year in recent years, and many supermarkets now stock organic products. Please support this positive shift in the supermarkets, and buy organic foods.
We have the power to restore the world to one that is aligned with the healing harmony of the universe. |

But even among the 28 million Americans who buy organic food on a regular basis,19 many do not conscientiously avoid GM ingredients in their non-organic purchases; they usually do not know how. By educating health-conscious shoppers about the dangers of GM food and providing clear choices in the store, brands without GM ingredients will have the advantage. This campaign will promote healthier eating in America and may even achieve the tipping point that inspires the whole food industry to get on board. Natural complexes come from live, whole organic food sources, with their enzymes and electrical properties intact. They have been manufactured with minimal processing. ūNo supplement should be taken in concentrations greater than those found in food. ūThe body cannot use, and does not accept, isolated or synthetic nutrients.
Use these guidelines when assessing the suitability of a supplement product you are considering for purchase and use. |
| When selecting vitamin and mineral supplements, make certain they come from whole organic food sources, contain enzymes, and have been made with minimal processing. Such supplements may work with the body slowly, but they also work surely and continuously, without the stress of increased metabolism to remove unnatural, incomplete, and toxic substances.
A diet of natural, raw, organic, ripe, and fresh or undercooked foods provides the body with vitamin and mineral supplies with their complete synergistic components. |
| Two additional highly concentrated foods that show significant promise as organic food source supplements are marine phytoplankton and stevia leaf.
Marine Phytoplankton
Phytoplankton are microscopic single-celled plant organisms that are the foundational basis of the food chain for all animals living in the ocean. Many species of whales eat them, develop great strength and endurance, and live to between 80 and 150 years. The largest is the whale shark, which lives to more than 150 years and is sexually active until it dies. |

This is already more than a $1-billion-a-year industry in the United States, out of the $15 billion in organic food sales last year.
The problem is that our government - specifically the U. S. Department of Agriculture - takes about $90 billion of our tax money every year, and they give subsidies to all of these factory farms to go organic, but they give no subsidies to help family-scale dairies make the transition to organic. We literally do not have enough family farmers with the wherewithal to achieve organic certification and make the product. |

The conclusion reached in the Nutrition Index is that "the best sources of calcium are natural, organic food sources."6
In his book, How to Have a Healthier Dog, Wendell Belfield, DVM, advises, "It's roo much, not too little that bothers me most in regard to calcium. Dog owners have this great urge to over-supplement calcium. A balanced vitamin and mineral supplement should contain all the extra calcium a growing dog or pregnant or lactating bitch needs."7 Individual animals have individual needs. |

At the same time, we have these giant retail giants like Wal-Mart who have noticed that the public wants organic food and they are willing to pay a premium price for it, so they and the other retail chain stores have moved with a vengeance to dominate the organic market. Wal-Mart is now the number-one seller of organic milk in the country. The problem is that the milk they are selling - Horizon Organic - is not really organic. It is coming from the factory-style dairy farms where the animals are kept in intensive confinement and have been imported from conventional farms as calves. |

REPPED: A recent NewsTarget article on Amy's Kitchen (a well-known producer of organic food products) resulted in a groundswell of customer comments being sent to the Amy's Kitchen company requesting they stop using yeast extract in their products. The large number of requests garnered the attention of Amy's Kitchen decision makers, and NewsTarget was soon contacted by Bill Twieg, the Technical Director of Amy's Kitchen, who offered additional information presented here. |

We will do what we can to ensure that organic continues to mean organic and that consumers get exactly that when they are paying premium prices for organic food."
The Health Ranger's view
In my view, this case is a classic David vs. Goliath battle that's pitting a wealthy corporation against the high integrity, grassroots philosophies of the OCA and Cornucopia Institute. Based on what I know about this situation, I believe Aurora to clearly be in the wrong here, and I think this corporation is lying to consumers by playing games with the definition of "organic. |

People can just come by for the Sunday, or any day, but Saturday and Sunday we have a nice, beautiful brunch and 100-percent organic food we made with love. We guarantee our food: If we can't get organic, we don't carry it, so if we can't get it, we won't be able to offer that. We have pretty much good organic sources. We're growing a lot of it ourselves, particularly greens; we're really good at that. Vegan means no meat or dairy, live. |
| A child who eats organic food has one-sixth the pesticides and herbicides of a child who is eating commercial food. We're doing a study about mothers' milk, and I'm not very happy about it because they are saying that it's so toxic. Now, I want to still say very clearly that taking mothers' milk is still better than doing anything else, but we're trying to figure out how to detox mothers, you know, before they get pregnant so that their milk is really good. |

The people we meet remind us what eating organic food is also about. Regardless of quantifiable difference in nutrients, it is healthier to eat organic food. It's healthiet for the soil and watet, for our bodies, and for the farmers and farmworkers who tend crops free from chemicals.

Fair trade is a big part of the organic food movement.
Now, I know a lot of you are saying that I'm confusing free trade and fair trade, but actually, I'm not. I'm sort of using them interchangeably for a specific reason. When the people in charge of the world say free trade, they don't really mean free trade. But when I say it, I really do mean free trade. |

Finally, I recommend eating only organic food. organic food has more nutrients than conventionally prepared food. In addition, my own research has shown that organic food has fewer pesticides and heavy metals present.
4. Sweating
The ability to sweat is impaired in many individuals with chronic illness. Re-training the body to sweat is essential to stimulating the detoxification pathways of the body. I recommend using an infrared sauna to aid in this process.

By simply choosing organic food products rather than conventional, you're effectively reducing pesticide runoff by a specific measurable amount. Remember: Every food item you purchase is like an outward expanding ripple in a pond. Your actions impact the whole world, and something as simple as buying a food bar speaks volumes about who you are and what you believe (as well as the kind of future you wish to co-create for your children).
Enjoy! |

By the way, when people think they are buying organic food, buying really great food that's really expensive, consider the fact that if you were to put organic meat and vegetables in your food, it would cost a lot more because they cost a lot more at the market. You're not going to get inexpensive organic ingredients, but if you're using by-products, like the trim of the meat instead of the whole muscle meat, then you can afford organic meat.
You are also using organic vegetables that weren't acceptable for human consumption. Think of a head of spinach. |

There's an umbrella called organic food, right? Back in 1990, that was the big thing, but at this point now thank goodness, since we're having many more evolutions based on science you can see that variation where people are putting more of their attention on why we need to do things like eat locally. For us here at the Tree of Life, this authentic food movement means having foods that come from within a 250-mile radius.

So yes, you can end up paying four dollars for a small microwavable meal of honest, clean, organic food from Amy's Kitchen, and sure, you could spend half that on a frozen meal from some other company loaded with hydrogenated oils, refined sugars, monosodium glutamate and artificial food coloring, but is it really worth two dollars less to poison your body?
I gladly spend the extra two bucks to have clean food and avoid the detrimental effects of these additive ingredients. That's why Amy's Kitchen goes on my A-list. This is an A+ company, in my opinion. |

It is of prime importance that everyone go 100 percent organic.

| In a 1988 review of thirty-four studies that compared organic with conventionally grown foods, organic food was found to have higher protein quality in all comparisons, higher levels of vitamin C in 58 percent of all studies, and 5 to 20 percent higher mineral levels for all but two minerals. In some cases, the mineral levels were dramatically higher in organically grown foods and were as much as three times higher in one study involving iron content. |

Already many supermarket chains, such as Stop and Shop, have started to stock organic produce, the result in great part of the tremendous publicity given to pesticide residues in food during the Alar campaign. Encourage your local supermarket to carry organic food or expand the organic food section by using a basic organizing strategy. Circulate a petition asking that the store offer certified pesticide-free produce. |

The public demand for organic foods is growing, even though some traditional farms are becoming even more reliant on pesticides, fertilizers, and hormones to increase crop yields. Organic farming is still a relatively small industry (about 10 percent of agriculture in the United States), but it is experiencing growth worldwide. A number of European nations expect 30 to 50 percent of their farms to go organic in the near future. The organic movement also includes meat, dairy, and egg sources. |
